Artist Statement:
Painting has always been some what of a challenge for myself. I struggle with trying to get the colors looking just right, applying layers upon layers to have that thick application affect, to apply the detail using small brushes, and overall cannot see the final product. In this next series, I have explored the ranges of color to train my own eye. I have looked at real objects in that certain time frame to capture the essence of the colors. I have learned to master the art of coloring in many different forms and media. This was a process that I took upon myself to learn and (hopefully) master.
